What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH)?

SFH is a modern, forward-looking form of therapy that combines talking therapy (using neuroscience) with the relaxing state of trance.
Unlike traditional approaches that might ask you to re-live past traumas, we focus entirely on where you want to be. We work together to create realistic, achievable goals and use the latest brain research to help you understand how your mind works. By focusing on solutions, we empower you to make positive changes and build a happier, more resilient future.
How is SFH different from other types of therapy?

The main difference is our solution-focused approach.
Many therapies are "problem-focused," meaning they require extensive discussion about past events and the root cause of your difficulties. While that works for some, SFH is intentionally different.
We accept that you have a problem, but instead of dwelling on it, we ask: "What would life look like if this wasn't an issue?" This helps us bypass the problem and focus directly on building the positive steps, mindset, and habits needed to move you forward quickly and effectively. It's positive, practical, and highly engaging.
Does it work online?

Yes, absolutely! Online sessions via Zoom or video calls are just as effective as meeting in person.
Therapeutic trance is a state of focused relaxation, and it is your mental focus that matters, not the physical room you are in. Many clients find the online format even more comfortable and relaxing because:

You are in your own safe space: You can relax in the comfort of your favorite chair or sofa.

Convenience: There's no travel time, making it easier to fit into a busy schedule (especially helpful given my corporate background!).
For online sessions, all you need is a reliable internet connection, a private space where you won't be interrupted, and headphones (optional, but recommended for the best experience). The effectiveness of SFH is entirely retained whether we meet face-to-face or screen-to-screen.
How many sessions will I need?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is considered a brief therapy because of its efficiency.
The total number of sessions depends on your specific goals. Generally, clients see significant benefits within 8 to 12 sessions. Issues like phobias are often resolved in just 4 sessions, and stopping smoking is typically a single, extended session. We’ll discuss a personalized estimate during your Initial Consultation once we have a clear picture of what you want to achieve.
